Week Two Blog

This week discussing and reading about blues and how it can be modified into verse poetry is an excellent topic.  I really enjoy blues music and have been to many blues concerts.  It is something that I find very inspirational.  Langston Hughes is one of the best poets of all time and the fact that he used this type of poetry regularly gives the style a huge amount of notoriety.  So before I even started brain storming on how to proceed with the poem I was excited.
Then I started the poem and realized it was going to be harder to do than I once thought.  I got through a couple of lines and hit a wall.  I'm still trying to sort through it but I'm almost there. It is a challenging but fun process.
The biggest problem was figuring out my inspiration for the poem.  I started listening to a lot a blue songs and that sort of got me going on the right track.  I realized how many blues songs are pretty much the same type of situation just stated with different words.  That worked against me but I finally got to a point where I am satisfied with my work.
