For this week we had two assignments, the first was to write a poem with apostrophe, synesthesia, personification, and comparison, then we were give an assignment to anotate a poem and write another in that style. Before we were able to write the first poem we had to read part one of chapter three, in order to understand how to write the poem. The poem that I am annotating is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. After I finish annotating I will write a poem in this style, in this poem Frost uses many concrete words to let you truly see the two paths that he is seeing. When I first started writting the other poem I did not understand what I was supposed to be doing, so it was difficult, then when I figured out how to write this poem I actually really enjoyed it. This was a type of poem that I have never had experience writting, but I feel like this new style will help me in my later writtings.
I feel like my creativity can improve and this class will help me with this. I love writting poetry and I love any help that I can recieve on becoming a better writter be in poetry, short stories, or even maybe someday childrens books and publishing my own poems.
