The first week of this class was very rough for me. I had come off of a long summer of recovery from a surgery and was a little more nervous about writing than I think I should have been. I always tend to get behind in readings in most classes, so I am very glad to say I have read all the chapters so far in MYOD and I enjoy reading about the music and language of poetry. I used to write a lot of poetry as a teenager but have not done so much since. I am excited to be in a class where I get to express myself in such a way as you give us the opportunity.
We also worked in class with some word play which was kind of fun to think of all the words and what they mean or what you can make them mean. I feel as though this class is going to be a very beneficial class and although I was directed to take it to fulfill a credit requirement, I am very excited to learn more from you and the poets in this class!
