Week 6 Blog

These week we started into "flash fiction" which is a type of short story that packs all of its punch into a few paragraphs up to a few pages.  We also were put into groups on Thursday and went through a short story and analyzed major parts of the story such as the setting, person, conflict, and etc.  This type of literature, I believe, allows writers to be more creative in their process because, it doesn't have to follow specific parameters like the majority of poetry does.  It also doesn't have the attention deficit affect on people like free lance poetry does, at least in my opinion.
I enjoy reading and writing this type of literature because I have many thoughts that are in most ways improvisational.  My preference is to start writing and see where the flow and energy want to take me.  That is how my "Jack and Jill don't go up a hill" began and I think it is pretty fun to read and think about.
Just thinking about short stories I get creative, if I have a given direction I sure that I can spin a 180 and turn it into something that I will enjoy creating.
