Week 5

Bag of Candy

Received at a little three year olds birthday party, this medium sized candy bag is as clear as the sky of a cloudless day. On the see through bag, are multiple bright balloons floating as if they were set off in the sky. The balloons are bright blue, red, green, and yellow along with scatters of confetti the same four colors. The rectangular clear bag is bumpy feeling and rough to the touch. When I touch it, it makes a crackling noise as if I were crumpling up a piece of paper. Inside the filled bag, is many pieces of candy, along with a shiny purple beaded bracelet, and a smooth animal printed stencil. Some candy comes in small square bright cardboard boxes, while others come in plastic wrapping. All the chocolate pieces of candy are squishy and melted like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. Also, hidden at the way bottom of the bag is a tiny tube of pink bubbles with a princess star as the handle. Lying in between all the packaged sugar-filled candy are empty wrappers and boxes to all the candy that had already been eaten; the candy had called out to me.

Having to write specifically about one object was rather challenging for me. Since my bag of goodies had so many different objects to it, I thought it would definitely be easier than it was. It was difficult for me to think of different metaphors, concrete specific details, etc.; however, coming up with basic describing words was easy. I found this activity fun, and would like to see what different objects I could describe in 200 words or more.
