This past week we have presented our projects on literary journals and now know what they are. We also had our first workshop day. It was a little awkward in the beginning but we all eventually got over it and started helping each other. Even though I really didn’t participate in the workshop it was still interesting and seemed to really help.
Recently I have been revising about three poems. I’ve also thought about turning one of my poems into a short story and maybe expanding my character sketch and the little story I started on it. I have a couple more poems I want to revise but I’m having difficulties finding huge amounts I need to revise or being able to revise the poem 3 more times.
It seems other cultures and traditions can inspire any kind of writing. Cultural holidays and famous icons can inspire people to write stories, poems, and lyrics. Sometimes they can even add allusion to writings which can be difficult to write in without seeming to be randomly dumped in. Writing about culture and tradition can enlighten people about obscure cultures and tell stories with ethics and morals. Writing about traditions, different cultures, and allusions can be interesting and enlightening.
