Blog Week 9

This week we first focused on lit journals and were given an assignment to find a lit journal and start reading it and getting a feel for it and present a lit journal on the 31st. We talked about aesthetics and were all put in groups and were given a poem or short short and we had to explain as a group the aesthetics and whether we liked it or not. Another thing we had to do was come up with what we though beauty was and most of us agreed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that we couldn't come up with one specific definition for it. On Wednesday we did some workshopping as a whole class. We work shopped 2 different poems and it really prepared us for our own workshops that we are going to do.

I thought that the workshopping exercise was very beneficial because with more workshopping coming up, it was nice to get a feel for how to do it and what exactly to look for. I find workshopping a bit difficult because I am not a fan of critiquing other students work and I am not the best at noticing details that some others come across. On the other hand I am excited that I get to improve my own work.
