Week 10

This week we started
out with our lit journal presentations on Monday. Most of the class seemed to
really enjoy the lit journals they chose. I personally thought mine was a bit
on the boring side, but it wasn't too bad to read. Some of the presentations
took longer than expected so we have to finish them next week, but I think it
will be worth it because we had some great presentations. On Wednesday we
started work shopping our own work. We got into groups of five and work shopped
everyone’s work in the group. Work shopping wasn't as bad as I had originally
intended, thank goodness, but it was difficult to not say anything as the rest
of the group told you their thoughts. I knew my piece needed a lot of work, but
as I read it out loud it made me realize what exactly I wanted to change
because you never really know how your work sounds until you read it out loud.
My group had some really good work, and it is pretty inspiring to make your own
better.

In these past two
weeks I’ve learned more about workshopping and the more we workshop the more I know
what to look for. I struggle a bit with it because I am not a very observant
person, but this helps a lot.
